2026
- — On 27 October, I will give a keynote at NEXT: Media for the Next Generation in Mechelen, titled "(Conversational) AI as Information Machines? Sketching the Contours of a New Information Landscape". AI, and conversational AI systems in particular, are increasingly important gateways to information. The keynote will trace this development and ask what it portends for the information landscape and for the role of news within it.
- — I am visiting Washington, D.C. (6–10 October) to give a talk on AI, information, and news at the Pew Research Center and to attend a workshop on agentic information futures hosted by the Knight-Georgetown Institute.
- — I spent September as an Invited Fellow at the College for Social Sciences and Humanities in Essen, where I worked on how agentic AI systems can be aligned with democratic values in the provision of information and news.
